Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those around you, and you'll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you'll find that you have more of it.
Last night my husbands company had a appreciation dinner for all their employees. So glad I went to experience for myself how they did this appreciation dinner because we missed it last year due to a wedding.
The company he works for is called Pioneer Youth and they are a foster/proctor care agency and they look for outstanding families who are willing to change lives and take in kids/old folks who aren't able to take care of themselves or their families have given up on them. The company is pretty awesome. Anyways my husband is a family consultant. We have to learned a lot while being in this industry and in fact we used to be proctor parents. The last 6 years we had over 11 proctor kids in and out of our home. The work was hard and challenging at the same time. I have come to terms that anything you do in your life is challenging. We learned a lot while being proctor parents. We learned to grow up real fast and take on responsibility real quick. We had to learn how to budget, make actual food at home, manage bills and most of all learn how to problem solve. Long story short, I had fun while it lasted. I have my own kids now and it's time to focus on them.
Anyways back to the appreciation dinner, we had so much fun. I had a huge ahhhh-haaaa moment while being there. The owners of the company are actually my cousins. I love love love that its a family business and they have each sibling in charge of something. I really loved how they took over what their parents have started, I loved how the oldest of the family is now leading by example and really strong and knows where she wants to take her company in the next 10 to 20 years. I really loved that the energy was high and that they were just thanking everyone for what they did the entire night. To top it off they had a couple of drawings throughout the night and gave away a FREE car, and two free computers. They didn't have to, but they wanted too. It got me thinking a lot last night about my family and how I'm the oldest and how I really need to step it up and get our family business going and learn more about myself and gain more confidence in myself and just step it up!!!! Our parents do sacrifice so much for us and return we must take what they have done and run with it and perfect it to where we can take care of our families and take care of them.
Im so grateful for them and for giving my husband a job. Im grateful for their examples and for what they stand for. All jobs should have a appreciation dinner.
This is Tiare & Kauti Olevao, they are the owners of the company. She is the eldest of her family and I really look up to her and her work ethics. She has 5 kids and still manages to run her business and take care of her callings in her ward.
This is my Aunty and Uncle Danny who stared the company and now help by giving away prized and help with things around the office.
Some of the guys that work with them. (left to right)
JR Solovi, Sione Olevao, Danny Muti, Ray Hansen, Tofa Muti
Uncle Danny was so excited to give away a free car!!!! Congrats Selu on winning the car.
As you can see in the pictures the event was a success. Glad things turned out the way they did and Im grateful for the appreciation dinner.
